CHARACTER
Name: Oliver Queen
Canon: DC Animated
Age: 16
Demigod/Hunter/Satyr/Nymph: Demigod, son of Apollo
Demigod abilities: Ollie's main manifestation of his abilities lies in archery. He is an exceptionally good archer, who is able to land most of the shots he takes, even some that look unlikely to those who are not his fellow archers. Otherwise, he tends to have the standard demigod abilities, including a brain hard-wired to read greek that manifested as dyslexia, and the reflexes that resulted in an ADHD diagnosis in school.

AU History:
Oliver Queen is the product of a union between his mortal mother, Moira Queen, and his godly father, Apollo. Moira was a gifted musician who Apollo was quite taken with and thus, their relationship began. Not far along the way into this relationship, Moira discovered that she was pregnant. Because she could not marry Apollo, and he could not stay around to be a part of his son's life, she married Henry Queen a few months before Ollie was born.
While his stepfather definitely knew that Ollie couldn't be his child, he didn't exactly know the truth about his stepson's abilities either, and it was assumed that Ollie was just genuinely hyperactive and had trouble reading when he started school. Plenty of boys did, and while it was frustrating for him, Ollie was pretty determined anyway. He got into his share of fights with the other kids who accused him of being stupid, and a freak until he got a diagnosis for both problems with Dyslexia and ADHD.
Once he learned that his reading problem was something that could be helped, Ollie was determined not to let it get to him. Reading never exactly became a cherished pastime but he didn't feel stupid about it anymore, which helped a lot. It also helped that his stepdad was rich, and his parents could afford to send him to special schools where the focus was on learning styles like his, and on helping students overcome learning disabilities. Schools plural, yeah. He couldn't exactly fit in, and was pretty much blamed for the destruction of his fifth grade classroom when A THING HAPPENED, which meant that he switched schools the next year. Everything looked like he was just a kid causing trouble, and it wasn't as if his mother was going to go against the story yet. She was pretty much hoping that they could ride out Ollie's childhood without anything too crazy or dangerous happening to him thanks.
Moving to a new school proved to be something of a benefit for Ollie, when the next one, a boarding school brought a few friends into his life, and also archery lessons. Ollie found out that when he picked up a bow, he was able to focus incredibly well, not only on his shooting ,but on everything else that was going on around him at the same time, which made him the type of archer who knew almost instinctively, what was happening around him at every minute, and left him very able to deal with distractions on the field. His sixth grade school year was actually quite successful, all things considered, and he came home that summer triumphant, and ready to enjoy the summer, and the actual African Safari that his parents had arranged, little knowing that his life was about to change entirely from that point on.
One night on the safari, while in the middle of the time of his life, Ollie heard noises from outside of their camp, and decided he should go out to investigate, only to find a rogue Cyclope about to attack him. He was pretty frozen to the spot, though he must have yelled loud enough for his parents to both slip out of the tent to join him and get mowed down in its path. Ollie would have been mowed down along with them but for the young man who stepped in, with a bright blaze of white, saving his life while he stood there too frozen to do much of anything, and in total shock.
Once the shock wore off, and Ollie turned to thank his rescuer, he got the shock of his young life. Not only were his mother, and the man he'd thought was his father definitely dead, he was soon being sat down and told that his rescuer was none other than the God Apollo, who was, also, in fact, the god Apollo. Somehow, maybe it was the shock, maybe it was the fact that he finally had answers for some of the weirder moments of his life, Ollie found himself accepting this story, and being talked into moving to Camp Half Blood, where he could spend more time practicing archery and learn how to fight the the things that had hurt his family. He came to Camp Half Blood in mid July of that year, and has been living there for the past five years, determined to defend his newfound family at all costs, something he proved in the Battle of Manhattan when he joined his cabin-mates in the fighting and survived to come home.
Now sixteen, he spends most of his free time on the archery range, flirting with just about everyone, and joke flirting with the Hunters of Artemis when they happen to be around. He isn't going to seriously step in there and make a cousin fall in love, but it's funny as hell to see them reacting anyway. He's a little worried about his future in the next few years when he'll be officially too old for camp, but for the moment, everything is pretty good.
